About
Karl Flowers was ‘just another kid’ from the Cape Flats. He was born to a single mom and raised with the help of her extended family. During his early childhood Karl’s home was Heideveld and then, for a brief period, it was Mitchells Plain. He lived his formative and schooling years in the then-segregated ‘coloured’ suburb, Lansdowne with his maternal grandmother and aunt. Karl was, of necessity, a survivalist- hardworking, purpose-filled, and self-driven
Our Work
The Karl Flowers Trust is looking for young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who dream of contributing to a better world, and who have an idea about what they themselves need to be and do in order to make this better world happen.
Get Involved
It’s in light of this that we are reaching out to you. We believe Karl’s real legacy lies not in the money that we can invest in opening doors for young people, although this is in itself a profound gift. We believe Karl’s greatest legacy lies in you, in us – a network he attracted and connected
The purpose of the Trust
